Hi,
We request you the possibility to disable tracing for an specific pod or for any specific jdbc connection.
Right now the only wat to disable tracing for a pod is by doing ignore processes.
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/instana-observability/current?topic=agent-host-configuration#ignore-processes but I guess it should easiest on the way to select the pod you want to ignore and that should be enough
Secondly, we are also interesting on disable tracing for some specific jdbc connection as the only way to do it is just disabling all JDBC calls on this way:
com.instana.plugin.javatrace:
instrumentation:
plugins:
JdbcExit: false
Please consider this and get back to us.

Hi,
I could agree that you are able to ignore some specific process with that plugin. However this is something else. Imagine how many processes could be located in one specific namespace or even inside any jdbc connection. Should we ingore one by one? This is not accurate.
We must be able to ignore a whole namespace or any jdbc connection.
BR
This is possible by providing process-specific configuration values from environment variables or files. Please see this section in the public documentation: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/instana-observability/current?topic=agent-host-configuration#configurations-from-process-environment-and-files

Hi,
It should cover also a whole namespace to be ignored as reported on this support ticket: https://support.instana.com/hc/en-us/requests/22825?page=2#comments
