Thank you for sharing the details of your experience with us.
After reviewing your request, we has decided not to implement this change at this time. Running multiple Java agents from different vendors that instrument the same application classes can lead to bytecode instrumentation conflicts and unpredictable behaviour. Because the resulting behaviour depends on how both agents modify the application bytecode, Instana cannot reliably guarantee compatibility in such configurations.
This position is reflected in our public documentation, where we explicitly recommend not using agents from multiple vendors at the same time, as this can result in unpredictable behavior and potentially application failure. For reference: here
For this reason, we are closing this request at this time. In 12 months, you will receive a notification to resubmit if your requirements or circumstances have changed.
