This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

Smart Alert based on memory or CPU usage

We have already the possibility to create smart alerts based on the ratio between usage and limits or usage and request, but there is not an option to create an smart alert based on a static amount of memory MB or CPU cores. So lets say, create an smart alert if the pod's memory usage is under 500 MB, be notified. Also same with CPU cores.

While Kubernetes sensor does send a reduced set of metrics, even on Pod level there are absolute memory metrics available.

Should further memory and CPU metrics be needed, we'll need to have these added to the Kubernetes sensor, which would come at increased ingest costs, which we need to evaluate.

Alternatively a host based monitoring would also be possible, though that might not be limited to a certain pods usage.
