Wildcard support or dynamic time-series graphing for all top-consuming processes on AIX.

The customer monitors process performance on AIX servers. Currently, by adding combineTopProcesses to the agent configuration.yaml, Instana provides a static table updated at 30-second intervals showing the top processes.

While this static snapshot is useful, it lacks historical depth. The customer needs to monitor all top processes on time-series graphs to analyze historical trends, anomalies, or consumption spikes over time. They would like to achieve this either by introducing a wildcard feature (e.g., allowing match: '*' or similar) under the com.instana.plugin.process plugin, or through any other automated out-of-the-box solution that metrics all top processes dynamically without needing to define every process name manually.

    Hello Arda,

    Thank you for opening this enhancement Idea on behalf of the client.

    Have you checked out the "Custom Processes" section under the Instana Process Monitoring to see if this meets the requirements?

    Otherwise, can you explain this some more as the process that meet the criteria in a 30 second window are considered. Do you. want to keep monitoring every such process that meets the criteria even if it drops out of the list at a later time so that the history chart shows how that process is behaving overall historically?
