Request for Instana API to Add Notes and Acknowledge Incidents for ITSM Integration

I would like to suggest the addition of a public API in Instana to allow interaction with incidents, specifically the ability to add notes and optionally acknowledge incidents programmatically. Currently, as confirmed by IBM support, notes can only be added through the UI and there is no public API for incidents, only for events, which limits integration scenarios with external ITSM tools.

In many operational environments, integrations with platforms such as BMC Remedy or other ITSM systems rely on automation to ensure consistency and traceability across tools. For example, when an Instana event triggers the automatic creation of an incident in Remedy, it would be highly valuable to use the Instana event or incident identifier to programmatically update the corresponding Instana incident with contextual information such as a note indicating that the incident has been created in Remedy, including the INC number, as well as its assignment or current handling status. Additionally, having the option to acknowledge the incident via API would help align the operational workflow between monitoring and ITSM systems.

This capability would help us enhance our integration with BMC Remedy by providing better visibility and operational context directly within Instana, reducing manual effort and improving synchronization between Instana and external systems.
