No‑Cross‑Border GenAI Processing for Instana SaaS

Highly regulated customers in DACH (e.g., Public Sector) require strict guarantees that no data leaves the EU at any stage of processing. Today, GenAI inference in Instana SaaS is performed via a centralised service outside the EU, which may make AI features unusable for these customers even if no data is stored externally. To address this, Instana should (at least optionally) ensure that all GenAI inference is executed entirely within the EU, for DACH clients ideally in Frankfurt, with enforced controls that prevent any cross-border data processing or fallback to non-EU regions under any circumstances. This is essential to meet data sovereignty requirements and enable adoption of AI features in regulated environments where any cross-border processing is a hard blocker.
