API token with limited unit scope needed which is not bound to user permissions

we are on the way migrating from on-prem to instana saas with OIDC authentication.

In this course we need api tokens, which are limited to specific unit application data scope for programmatic access via instana api.

UC example: Extraction of application metric data for application <my-application> but only for <my-application> with extraction routine against instana rest api by an external customer.

Is there a way to have api token, which is defined on least-privilige principle for specific use case which is not bound to personal user permissions?

    We're planning to add "team scope" limitations for regular API tokens or having "team tokens" for better control than personal API tokens.
    This work is likely not going to be included before the end of 2026, but is on our shortlist.
