Enable Top Lists to Display Aggregated Results from Graphs in Custom Dashboards

In Instana custom dashboards, we would like to have a feature that allows a Top List to display the maximum value calculated from data after applying the same aggregation logic as a line chart (e.g., averaging per time interval).

Expected Behavior (Example)

Line Chart

• Divide the selected time range into fixed intervals

• Display the CPU usage as an average for each interval

Top List

• Extract and display the maximum value from the above averaged data

Improvement Ideas

• Allow configuration of multi-stage aggregation, such as “Average → Maximum”

• Alternatively, provide an option on the Top List to “use the same aggregation method as the graph”

This would improve numerical consistency across multiple widgets on an Instana dashboard and enhance the accuracy of monitoring and analysis.
