Support for MuleSoft Mule Runtime 4.x Monitoring in IBM Instana

Dear Instana Product and Development Team,

Mule 4.x has been the strategic runtime platform recommended by MuleSoft for several years and is now the primary platform for customers modernizing their integration environments. As Mule 3.x is EOL, we expect many enterprise customers will be performing similar upgrades and will require equivalent monitoring capabilities in Instana.

IBM's sensor support strategy indicates that customers can request support for technologies based on customer demand and business requirements. We believe Mule 4.x support would benefit not only our organization but also a broader community of enterprise customers undertaking MuleSoft modernization initiatives.

Requested Enhancement

We respectfully request IBM Instana Product Management and Development teams to:

  1. Add official support for Mule Runtime 4.x.
  2. Provide automatic discovery of Mule 4.x runtimes and applications.
  3. Enable distributed tracing for Mule 4.x transactions and APIs.
  4. Capture runtime health metrics, JVM metrics, flow execution metrics, and dependency visibility.
  5. Include service maps and topology visualization for Mule 4.x services.
  6. Publish a target roadmap and estimated availability for Mule 4.x support.

We highly value IBM Instana as our strategic observability platform and appreciate the continuous investment IBM makes in expanding technology coverage. Given the widespread adoption of Mule 4.x and the ongoing migration away from Mule 3.x, we strongly encourage IBM to prioritize Mule 4.x support and provide a roadmap update to customers at the earliest opportunity.

    The latest version of Mule LTS is 4.913 which is to be upgraded version from the customer.
