Instana Agent Scheduler: Enabling/Disabling of Sensors based on Trading Schedules & Market Holidays

In the Financial Services Sector (especially Securities and Brokerage), IT operations strictly follow Trading Market Hours (e.g., Pre-market, In-market, Post-market, Off-peak) and Market Holidays (including unexpected holidays such as Typhoon/Weather Closure Days).

Currently, Instana Agents run sensors with static configurations 24/7. ( Maintenance window can suppress alerts), which lead below problems.

Collecting monitoring data during non-trading periods corrupts the AI baseline and leads to inaccurate anomaly detection. Additionally, these monitoring agents and metrics must be manually enabled or disabled.

[Requested Feature / Enhancement] We request IBM Instana to introduce a Native Agent Monitoring Scheduler that allows dynamic schedule-based control over Agent Sensors and monitored items, such as Schedule-Aware monitoring

Ability to define schedule rules (e.g., Cron or Session Ranges) within Agent configuration/management.

In-Market (09:00 - 13:30): Automatically Enable core trading sensors (APM Java Trace, DB Lock/Transaction metrics, Custom Business Metrics). Post-Market / Off-Peak / Holidays: Automatically Disable/Pause front-end trading sensors while keeping OS/Host infra sensors active.

    As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The offering team has carefully reviewed this idea and has decided that it does not fit into our current plans, so the request for enhancement record will be closed.
