Lightweight / Modular Instana Agent Package for Large-Scale Enterprise On-Premise Deployments

In large-scale enterprise environments (e.g., 900+ on-premise hosts with strict internal network bandwidth limits), deploying and updating the Instana Host Agent is a major pain point.

The current Agent installation package is exceedingly large because it bundles a full Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and a vast collection of default sensor plugins for all supported technologies.

Downloading this massive package across 900+ hosts simultaneously strains internal network backbones and proxies.

 

The customer would like to have a Modular / Core-Only Lightweight Instana Agent Package
