Features on Alerts

  • Repeat notifications at a configurable interval
  • Choose option to notify for alert closures. If repeated alert stops, it means the issue is closed alert. We don't need separate close email. 
  • Stop notifications when the alert is closed or acknowledged
  • Allow a maximum repeat count
  • Support different intervals by severity or alert channel
  • Alert groupings - Send alerts in one single email based on the grouping set. This will limit the number of alerts, SMTP or Email limitation won't get exceeded with this. Instead of sending alert with the existing template, it should be column based with all the groupings in each row

    Instana is not trying to be a ticketing system. Tools like ServiceNow or PagerDuty can be integrated with alert channels which can handle such additional rules when a ticket has not be acted on or is still considered as open with a huge variety of options to define.
