Hi everyone,
Status update:
We have reassessed this idea based on the current GraalVM and OpenTelemetry ecosystem. For GraalVM Native Image applications built with Spring Boot or Quarkus, the most viable near-term approach is to use framework-supported OpenTelemetry instrumentation and send OTLP telemetry to Instana.
Based on this reassessment, the status is being moved to Future Consideration. This does not mean the requirement is being closed. We will document the OpenTelemetry-based path, identify any gaps compared with the standard Instana Java tracer, and then determine whether Instana-specific integration is required.
Please continue to share any additional requirements, use cases, or feedback in the comments.
Please note: IBM’s statements regarding its plans, directions, and intent are subject to change or withdrawal without notice at IBM’s sole discretion.
