Custom dashboards: Copy a dataset or filter from one widget to another

Background and context

When creating a dashboard it's often useful to re-use datasets or filters between different widgets. If it's the same widget, the duplicate widget functionality can be used, but there is no way to re-use a dataset or filter between widgets of different times, for example from a pie to a chart.

Proposed idea

To be able to copy a dataset from one widget and use it in another widget.

Complementary or alternatively, to copy a filter from one widget to another, as in the case of the big number widget, there's only a direct filter and no dataset.

Hi Janos, can we meet to discuss this use case?
There are some distinct approaches that could meet your needs and I want to make sure I understand that you are trying to carry over between distinct widget types, since of course you can duplicate an existing widget type and edit it from there.
