Requirements for Maintenance Windows(MW) Scheduling - Alert Suppression Request using web link or REST API call using programming and not just using Watson Maintenance windows

Requirements for Maintenance Windows(MW) Scheduling. In order of priority:

  1. Need an API for integrations

    1. Our Centralized Dashboard should have a way to set Maintenance Windows’s

    2. Users should be able to click a link in an incident ticket to disable/suppress alerting for the respective monitor(s) included in the incident ticket.

    3. When creating a Change Request (CO), this API should allow for Maintenance Windows’s to be set on CI’s(hosts, apps, etc)

  2. Access Permissions – Users should see Maintenance Windows’s only related to their applications/team. Should not see other team’s Maintenance Windows’s.

  3. Auditing – admins and users should have the ability to see who created, changed or removed Maintenance Windows’s for their app.

  4. Scheduling should allow for multiple Maintenance Windows’s for a host/monitor/app.

    1. If schedules overlap, the Maintenance Windows suppression tool should be robust enough to accommodate.

  5. Option to extend an existing Maintenance Windows. Could be included in #5.

  6. Do not allow for permanent suppressions. Must set a time limit(Example: 90 days max)
