Add support for Amazon SES as a destination of an email notification integration of CP4AIOps

Background:

CP4AIOps v4.6 has an email notification integration function.

When we create the integration in CP4AIOps, we must set the following value on the Add integration page following this IBM documentation.

Name:

Description (optional):

Hostname or IP address of SMTP server:

Port of SMTP server:

Source email address:

SMTP password for source email address (optional):

Use TLS to encrypt outbound email (optional):

Email addresses of recipients:

Deployment options:

On the other hands, Amazon SES(SMTP interface)needs the following information to connect an external application with.

The SMTP endpoint address. Connecting to an Amazon SES SMTP endpoint.

The SMTP interface port number. Connecting to an Amazon SES SMTP endpoint.

An SMTP username

An SMTP password

Client software that can communicate using Transport Layer Security (TLS). Connecting to an Amazon SES SMTP endpoint.

An email address that you've verified with Amazon SES.Verified identities in Amazon SES.

Regarding Amazon SES, we cannot use an email address as an SMTP username as per AWS documentation.

Issue:

We cannot create an integration CP4AIOps with Amazon SES since we cannot set an SMTP username on the Add integration page of CP4AIOps.

As a result, the SMTP authentication is failed.

This means that the outbounding integration does not support for Amazon SES

Request:

  • I would like to request adding support for Amazon SES as a destination of an email notification integration of CP4AIOps

  • DueBy the end of August, 2024
