This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

1) In the current version of the SevOne Observer, there is no way to associate interface into a resource group. There is no field to identify what device a interface belongs to. A field should be added to the interface record that includes the device name which contains it.
2) The following data fields for interfaces should be gathered by the SevOne Observer for AIOps
Object Alternative Name - this is used by SevOne administrator to set a specify a different name for an interface object
System Description - this data is typically pulled from the device configuration directly, aka Interface Description. Customers use this field to identify use for specific interfaces
User Description - Like alternate name, this allows SevOne administrator to override the System Description of the interface provided by the device.

@Jim Brunke does Matt Duggan's comment help address the request?
The uniqueId of interfaces is built as deviceId-<device ID>-objectId-<interface ID> and so you can tell what device it relates to, is that sufficient? (id should be less ambiguous than name)
In general, adding extra properties to be more informative is useful but I would urge caution if aiming to group by interface as there may be better choices.
