Maintenance windows

Our client requires:

  • An intuitive interface for managing maintenance windows (MW): This should allow the organization of time periods during which specific applications or infrastructure are under maintenance. For example, the MW “Business days / hours and Saturday morning claim web site” includes two periods:

    • 06:00–18:00 Monday–Friday

    • 06:00–11:59 Saturday
      and applies to the application “claim web site”.

  • A straightforward way to configure custom views: Alerts should be easily displayed, hidden, or acted upon based on MW settings.

The proposed needs and features are outlined in the attached draft document. The client is ready to schedule workshops to refine these requirements.

Currently, in the BMC TrueSight-based solution, these capabilities are provided through a third-party tool, Proactive Pack (https://www.proactivepack.com/). In the future IBM AIOps solution, this functionality should be native to IBM CP4AIOps (not Netcool) and/or complemented by Proactive Pack.
