Allows Role based access control to dashboards created via the dashboard extension toolkit

While delivering an AIOps Proof of Concept for SBB (Swiss Railways), we demonstrated the capability to create custom dashboards using the extension toolkit. This functionality mirrors, to some extent, what is available in WebGUI dashboards. However, the major concern raised by SBB is that there is currently no way to control which users or groups can access specific dashboards.

I would like to request the addition of a mechanism within the dashboard extension framework that allows an AIOps Administrator to specify which AIOps roles a user or user group must have in order to access a particular dashboard through the left-hand navigation panel. If a user does not have the required role, they should not see the dashboard’s URL or be able to launch it. Ideally, this solution should support custom roles in addition to the standard out‑of‑the‑box roles provided with AIOps.

Summary

We request that IBM add first‑class dashboard-level RBAC capabilities to the CP4AIOps UI Extension Framework, enabling administrators to specify which AIOps roles (including custom roles) are required to access custom dashboards. Users lacking the appropriate role should not see the dashboard link in the navigation panel.

This improvement is essential for enterprise readiness and is a key requirement identified during the SBB PoC.
