Many existing Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) customers rely on the ability to create and customise operational dashboards using drag-and-drop widgets and alarm filter conditions. This capability allows individual operations teams to quickly develop dashboards tailored to their monitoring, incident management, and operational visibility requirements without requiring specialist development resources.

Following migration from NOI to IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps, users no longer have access to an equivalent self-service dashboard capability. Currently, creating custom dashboards requires the use of Cognos or the Dashboard Toolkit, both of which demand technical expertise, development effort, and deployment activities.

As organisations onboard additional operational teams, each request for a customised dashboard results in dependency on delivery teams and increases ongoing implementation and maintenance costs. This creates a barrier to adoption and reduces operational agility compared to the NOI experience.

Proposed Enhancement

Introduce a native self-service dashboard builder within the AIOps user interface that enables authorised users to:

• Create and manage dashboards through a drag-and-drop experience.
• Configure and arrange dashboard widgets without coding or deployment activities.
• Build views based on alarms, events, stories, insights, topology, and other AIOps data sources.
• Apply custom filter conditions and save team-specific dashboard configurations.
• Share dashboards with designated user groups or teams.
• Manage dashboard permissions through role-based access controls.

The experience should provide functionality similar to the legacy NOI dashboard framework while leveraging modern AIOps data sources and capabilities.
