Merge rules should include guard rails to prevent creation of super nodes

When defining any merge rules, the platform should provide validation and guard rails for users & administrators during either configuration, dry-run or execution phases. Users and Administrators should be warned when a merge rule is likely to create an excessive large super node due to overly broad matching criteria.


Ideally, any merge result that creates more than a small number of merged entities should trigger a warning and require user to review or refine the rule scope before proceeding.


The creation of super nodes leads to significant performance degrade and may require topology reset to recover. The remediation process is both time-consuming and disruptive for administrator and users.
