Cloud and AIOps

This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Enable IBM AIOps to represent and manage inter-domain incidents through a parent-child hierarchy, linking a root-cause incident to related child incidents across network domains and their corresponding ITSM tickets.

Large network failures can generate separate incidents across multiple domains, such as Transport, IP, Core, and RAN, even when they originate from the same underlying fault. Presenting these incidents independently makes it difficult for Network Operations Center operators to understand the end-to-end impact, identify the root cause, and coordinate resolution across domain teams.

IBM AIOps should support a parent-child incident relationship model in which one root-cause parent incident can be linked to one or more domain-specific child incidents. The relationships should be established and maintained through integration with an external correlation system such as INMS. The IBM AIOps incident console should display the complete hierarchy, identify the network domain associated with each incident, and allow operators to navigate directly between parent and child incidents without leaving the console.

The relationship should also be propagated to the corresponding ITSM records so that the parent ticket is linked to its child tickets. New child incidents identified by the external correlation system should be added to the existing hierarchy, and all hierarchy changes should be captured in the incident audit log with the source system, timestamp, and affected incident IDs.

This capability would benefit NOC operators, incident managers, network domain teams, and service assurance teams by providing a consolidated view of related incidents, supporting root-cause-led investigation, and improving coordination during complex cross-domain network failures.
