Onboarding requires ICMP response

For onboarding any new device in to the infrastructure it needs to have proper ICMP response, without that the servers cannot be onboarded. As per IBM, in file based discovery the device might be pollable even when ICMP is not working. In our current system we have few set of devices which are SNMP pollable but due to Firewall / DMZ restrictions they might be ICMP unreachable. Can we modify this approach for onboarding devices to Watson and add them even if they are not ICMP pingable?
