XenServer ITCAM does not collect CPU and Memory utilization metrics

Hi Support team, this idea is follow-up for the Case TS004347982. XenServer ITCAM does not collect CPU and Memory utilization data from Citrix XenServer Management API. We received the following suggestion from L3 support:

Citrix eventually admit that

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reading CPU utilization using the API fields has been deprecated since Xenserver 6.1, and are no longer updated because this functionality has been replaced by RRD statistics:

fields for IO bandwidth as part of VIF_metrics, VBD_metrics, PIF_Metrics

class VBD_metrics

class VIF_metrics

field vCPU utilisation as part of VM_metrics

memory_free as part of host_metrics (was internally deprecated)

The deprecation is backdated to Xenserver 6.1 and no longer supported.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

That means those deprecated fields in our XenServer (version : 7.1 Cu2 ) are not supported, and they suggested us to change to retrieve those values using RRD statistics API.

    recommend not implementing due to dwindling XenServer adoption
