Command Line tools to remove decommissioned agents

Customer uses APM for years and he is looking for a solution on removing decommissioned, old agents in an automated way. Based on APM documentation, old, decommissioned agents disappear from APM only when these agent instances do not appear in any APM application. But there is no (automated, or CLI, or API, or script, or SQL) way (except doing it manually) to identify which APM applications contain the given agent instances and no way to remove these agent instances from the APM applications. The only way to do both tasks, is interactively using the APM GUI. Please let me know if all above are valid and correct.

Customer (the biggest bank in Cyprus) needs a way, or work around that could help automate the agent decommission process in APM. Customer is not happy with product functionality and it would be nice if we can suggest something.
