Integration of HPE Aruba Network Central Data into Concert for Resilience and Risk Analysis

Solution Value Statement

Enable IBM Concert to ingest telemetry and configuration data from HPE Aruba Network Central, allowing customers to generate resilience postures and risk insights across their networked IT landscape.

Proposed Solution

Extend Concert’s integration capabilities by building a dedicated ingestion workflow for HPE Aruba Network Central. This workflow should connect to Aruba’s APIs, retrieve relevant data (e.g., device health, connectivity, alerts, configuration status), and map it to Concert’s resilience input metrics. The resulting data should be used to generate posture scores, identify risks, and trigger automation rules for remediation.

Customer Impact / Business Value

  • Provides unified visibility into network resilience and risk posture.

  • Reduces manual effort in correlating Aruba data with application health.

  • Enables proactive remediation based on Aruba alerts and performance degradation.

  • Enhances executive reporting with network-aware resilience insights.

  • Aligns with existing integrations in the IBM Automation Library.

Pilot or Validation Context

Pilot with customers already using Aruba Network Central and Concert. Validate API connectivity, data mapping accuracy, and posture generation. Include workflows for ingesting device status, alert history, and configuration compliance.

Key Functional Requirements

  • Concert Workflow to connect to Aruba Network Central APIs.

  • Support for authentication and secure data retrieval.

  • Mapping of Aruba metrics to Concert resilience input metrics.

  • Scheduled ingestion jobs via Concert Workflows.

  • Visualization of Aruba-derived posture in Arena view and Action Center.

  • Ticket automation based on Aruba alerts and configuration drift.

  • Evidence storage of Aruba data snapshots.

Metrics for Success

  • Number of successful Aruba data ingestions.

  • % of resilience postures enhanced with Aruba data.

  • Reduction in manual effort for network data integration.

  • Accuracy of posture scoring based on Aruba metrics.

  • Adoption rate of Aruba integration among Concert customers.

Roadmap & Feature Overlap Analysis

  • Existing Epic(s):

    • Concert Workflows for Data Ingestion

    • Resilience Integration with Instana, Dynatrace, Datadog

    • Concert + HCM Integration: MVP

    • Integration and Simplification of Concert and Concert Workflows

  • Overlap Summary:
Concert already supports ingestion workflows for APM and infrastructure tools via Concert Workflows. Aruba integrations exist in the IBM Automation Library, but these are not yet connected to Concert’s resilience scoring engine.

  • Unmet Needs:

    • No dedicated ingestion workflow for Aruba Network Central in Concert.

    • No mapping of Aruba metrics to resilience input metrics.

    • No posture generation or risk analysis based on Aruba data.

    • No visualization or ticketing integration for Aruba-derived insights.
