Device discovery using traps

The ask if for the capability to perform a device discovery from the trap received by the NMS. In addition to the existing discovery methods available, the NMS should have the capability to add the device if not already added if a trap is received from the device.

A page should be made available to view the traps received from undiscovered device. Upon selecting the multiple traps, there should be a button to let NMS perform a device discovery of those selected traps.

Another configuration should be made available to auto-discover devices if traps are received from unknown devices.

Thank you for the suggestion Ankit, this is an intriguing idea. We could certainly consider this if the saved SNMP read strings in the cluster manager are going to be adequate to poll these automatically added devices. I would like some clarification however.

I do want to better understand the complexity of the conditions you'd want auto-discover these devices. If you could give me some examples of certain traps you'd use and what kind of logic you'd use, it would really help us out in designing a good solution here.
