The Peer/Poller metadata field can be used to create device groups.
Currently in the DI metadata report, there is a metadata field called the Peer Name / Poller Name which contains the name of the NMS system which 'owns' the device.
However this metadata field is not available in NMS. Exposing this field in NMS will allow membership of device groups to be determined by which NMS owns the device.
When devices are moved between different NMS, this field will be automatically updated. This will alleviate the need for user intervention/scripts/APIs to manage the device group membership.

Hi,
I can imagine some reasons to query devices that belong to given peers, but this is mostly from a troubleshooting perspective or NMS capacity management perspective. Are there specific business problems that prompted you to open this idea? If so, I'd like to learn more about those.
