Manually setting sampling rate to SevOne NMS.

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

When monitoring Sampled NetFlow, It needs to configure the sampling rate on the network device to send it to SevOne.
Without this configuration, SevOne will not recognize the sampling rate, and the traffic volume displayed on the Flow widget will be inaccurate.

However, some network devices may not be able to send the sampling rate due to device issues.
We would like to have the ability to manually set the sampling rate in SevOne even in such cases, so that we can accurately observe the correct traffic volume.

We encountered issues with setting the sampling rate on some of our customer's devices:

  • Model: C9500-24Y4C

  • IOS-XE: 16.12.2

  • Unsupported configuration: (config-flow-record)#collect flow sampler

On the other hand, the following devices were able to send the sampling rate:

  • Model: C9500-48Y4C

  • IOS-XE: 17.9.5

Other Flow Collectors (e.g., ManageEngine's Flow Analyzer) allow manual setting of the sampling rate.
