Provide the ability for sheduled reports to send the results as a CSV file.

Currently, reports scheduled from Data Insight are sent as PDF attachments via email. However, I would like these attachments to be in CSV format instead. This change would make it easier to import the report data into Excel.

This functionality is similar to the option available in the Data Insight GUI, where you can export report contents as a CSV file.

A simple use case would be

  • Sending a weekly report as CSV would allow easy comparison of the report contents over a period time.
    For instance, you can track changes in device metrics (e.g. model no/vendor/metadata) by comparing columns in the weekly CSV reports. Using CSV files simplifies this process compared to PDFs.
