RELATED IDEAS

Add %ifInErrors, %ifOutErrors, %ifInDiscards, %ifOutDiscards as standard indicators for interfaces

These are industry standard metrics and should have been added years ago.  All customers benefit since individual packet error/discard counts don't provide much context into the seriousness of the issue (e.g. 5 errors out of how many packets?)  vs if 1 percent of all packets have errors, that is more interesting and actionable.

    @Guest - I've reviewed this with the PM team and ask that you email me and Nora with this request as a Device Cert update for the generic interface. I'd like to go that route to implement these new indicator types in the off-the-shelf DevCerts and then add them to the NMS basebuld.

    If Delta is looking for something more expansive than this, then we can discuss further via Slack or Teams.

    These require ifHCInUnicast, ifHCOutUnicast, ifHCInBroadcast, ifHCOutBroadcast, ifHCInMulticast, ifHCOutMulticast, ifInErrors, ifInDiscards, ifOutErrors, ifOutDiscards are enabled by default.  Synthetic indicators will be needed to create % values.

    if%InErrors = ifInErrors / (ifInErrors + ifInDiscards + ifHCInUnicastPkts + ifHCInBroadcastPkts + ifHCInMulticastPkts) * 100

    same pattern for for if%OutErrors, if%InDiscards, if%OutDiscards
