Disable/Delete Flow Interface not seen for X Months

Flow interfaces never get disabled or deleted once they are allowed for collection. Over time, interfaces move or are disabled thereby leaving these flow interfaces to consume licenses when nothing is being collected.

There's no way to tell if a flow interface has been defunct for a long period of time. We need a mechanism to auto delete an interface after X months. Alternatively, a way to report on interfaces that have not received a flow record for a long period of time. In the attached screen shot, you can see some interfaces have not seen a flow for over 2 years.

I say it's better to delete the interface rather than deny because if the interface is denied, if it were to become active again; someone would have to go to FlowFalcon Interface Manager and manually enable it.

Then I'd like to add the option to delete the interface after X days. If the denied interface is ever reused at a later date it will have to be manually enabled.

Clarification on the Hide cluster setting, it will only hide the interface from being included in flow reports.

Please refer to the documentation for the Deny and Purge settings -

Please note that there is an Inactive Flow alert available out of the box -

When did that get added? And does it work? I'm on 6.8.15 and have the default settings as above. None of my inactive NetFlow interfaces have been hidden.

Hi Wesley, I believe this should be covered by these settings in the cluster manager. If these settings aren't working for you, please contact support to investigate.
