Ability to filter chained widgets with Line visualizations using the parent's legend checkboxes

Refernce SevOne Support ticket number: TS021711425

Filtering of a chained line visualization is not intuitive because the checkboxes in the legend of the parent widget do not function as an anticipated filter for the chained child widget. Ā Development advised us that this is by design, per the below message from the above referenced Support/Skills case:

The reported behavior appears to be working as expected and is not a known issue.

Widget chaining is triggered by direct interactions within visualizations (e.g., clicking on chart elements), rather than by selections made in the table legend. This behavior is consistent across all visualization types, including Line, Pie, and Bar charts.

The fact that table legend selections do not trigger chained widget updates is intentional and not considered a defect.

To utilize widget chaining with Line charts, please inform customer to interact directly with the chart (e.g., click on data points) instead of selecting rows in the table legend.

If the customer is experiencing issues with selection in the Table visualization (not the table legend), then that is an issue.
