Full Log-Out from Targetprocess

Current log-out behavior:

Once a user has authenticated into Front-door and got granted to access to Target process, he can log-out and get back-in without being ask for authenticating again until:

  1. Front-door session timeout
  2. Front-door session is being explicitly terminated with a formal log-out

This means that Logging out from Targetprocess do not trigger the termination of the Front-door session.

Beside logged-in users can stay in Targetprocess and use it beyond ended Front-door session (timeout or terminated) without being kicked-out nor asked to re-authenticate.

This situation is qualified as non-supported feature rather than a Targetprocess issue.

Expected behavior:

Comply with NIST and OWASP Foundation recommendation toward logout and session management: 

  • ensure that Targetprocess session is terminated as soon as Frond-door session ends either from timeout or termination.
  • trigger Front-end session termination when terminating Targetprocess session
