Notify admins on system failures (i.e. AR, Metrics, etc...)

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Current Limitation:
TargetProcess does not currently provide any form of notification or alerting mechanism for system-level errors or failures. This includes—but is not limited to—issues with:

  • Automation rule execution
  • Synchronization failures
  • Login/authentication errors
  • Other backend or integration-related failures

Problem Statement:
The absence of real-time notifications means that administrators are often unaware of critical issues until they are surfaced by end users or discovered through manual investigation. This reactive model leads to prolonged system downtime, delayed incident response, and potential disruption to business operations.

Proposed Enhancement:
Introduce a configurable notification system that alerts designated administrators or support personnel immediately when system-level errors occur. This could include:

  • Email or in-app alerts for automation rule failures
  • Dashboards or logs with severity tagging and timestamps
  • Integration with incident management tools (e.g., PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams)

Benefits:

  • Faster Incident Response: Enables administrators to act immediately, reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR).
  • Improved System Reliability: Proactive monitoring helps maintain uptime and user trust.
  • Operational Efficiency: Reduces the need for manual checks and reactive troubleshooting.
  • Audit Readiness: Provides a clear trail of system health and incident history for compliance and reporting.
