Button for cloning Work Allocations

Creation of Work Allocation is fully manual process. Creation of duplicate Work Allocation is even more cumbersome, because user has to first record what data are used in the existing WA (PortfolioEpic, Product, other custom fields). Most of the managers' complaints are exactly against this - when they have to restructure existing Work Allocations for their teams (usually more than one WA) they have to painstakingly create WA after WA and that not only takes huge amount of time but also is very prone to errors.

We're asking to create a special function that would exist within existing work allocation and if invoked, it would duplicate / clone (create new) work allocation from which it was invoked and set the start date of the new WA based on the date that user will input in a dialog box.

Similarly with the (very useful) Bulk Edit function, an user should be able to select multiple work allocations (spanning multiple users and products) and be able to clone them in one go, replicating all fields, except for new Planned Start Dates and Planned End Dates.

    Hi Mateus,

Recently we released the Clone functionality as part of Targetprocess release ATP 2601.2 – January 15, 2025

Please refer to the published release notes of this release here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/targetprocess/atp/saas?topic=wnit-whats-new-in-targetprocess#targetprocess__2601.2-15012025. Also https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/targetprocess/atp/saas?topic=entities-clone-entity has more details on the Clone functionality.

While this is not an exact match to the need as described by you in this idea, we think it might help. Also, we are continuing to enhance this Clone feature. Next, we plan to make it available via Javascript automation rules so you can use it to more easily create more generic automations related to cloning. Later, we also plan to make the clone functionality available via GUI bulk operations, which will make it easier to clone multiple entities at once.

Please give this new functionality a try and tell us your opinion and feedback on it related to the need as described. We will keep you informed when additional enhancements to the Clone functionality become available.

    Kind Regards,
