Unified Reporting Hub in Left Navigation for Scalable View Management

Introduce a persistent “Reporting” hub pinned at the very top of the TargetProcess left navigation (alongside My Recent and Notifications). This link stays visible while scrolling and from any page. Clicking it opens a dedicated Reporting Home that consolidates all reporting assets - dashboards, views, and reports into a curated, searchable catalog. The catalog is segmented into:

  • Global to all users (org‑wide standard assets),
  • Available to me (permission‑aware),

Within the catalog, admins can publish and maintain standard views under clear categories:

  1. Global Initiatives / Reports 
  2. Entity Collections (Portfolio, Solutions, ART, Teams) 
  3. Persona‑based (Product Manager, RTE, Scrum Leads)
  4. Agile Ceremony‑based (PI Planning, Flow Metrics, Scrum, Retrospectives)

Admins can push standard views in these buckets.

Problem: Today, reports, views, and dashboards are scattered across a deep, folder‑based left‑nav structure. In large organizations (e.g., 50+ portfolios), users struggle to discover what exists, and admins struggle to manage or push scalable, standard views. Left navs can exceed 1,000+ items, making it easy to lose track of what’s available, creating duplication, inconsistent naming, and poor adoption. The result is friction in finding the “right” view, higher support overhead, and an inability to reliably standardize reporting across roles, ceremonies, and entities.

Capability Needed: A simplified, automated reporting navigation and catalog model that centralizes discovery, improves governance, and respects permissions.

  • Navigation & Visibility
    • Force a top‑level, sticky “Reporting” link that remains visible across the app and during scroll.
    • Reporting Home with tabs/filters for Global to all users, Available to me, Favorites, and My Recent.
  • Curation & Taxonomy
    • Admin‑curated categories: Global Initiatives, Entity Collections (Portfolio, Solutions, ART, Teams), Persona‑based (PM, RTE, Scrum Leads), and Agile Ceremony‑based (PI Planning, Flow Metrics, Scrum, Retro).
    • Ability for admins to publish, update, and deprecate standard views within these buckets (with version notes and “updated” badges).
  • Search & Discoverability
    • Unified search across dashboards/views/reports with filters (entity, persona, ceremony, owner, last updated, tags).
    • Clear labeling (owner, last modified, audience, data scope) and preview metadata to reduce mis-clicks.
