Service Desk Text Search - Clearing this field could be a little user friendly.

Suggested Improvement: Automatically Clear Keyword Search When Focus Leaves the Field

We've had multiple clients report that after clearing the keyword search field, they move on to another action, such as applying a different filter, only to see the previously entered search text reappear.

After walking through the behavior with a user and reviewing the recreation steps, we determined that clearing the text from the field does not immediately clear the active search criteria. The user must clear the field and then immediately press Enter to submit a new search before the previous search criteria is actually removed.

From a user's perspective, clearing the text from the search field gives the impression that the search has been cleared. Having the previous search text reappear after interacting with another filter can therefore be confusing.

It would be a helpful usability improvement if clearing the keyword search field and then removing focus from the field automatically committed the change and cleared the active search criteria. This would make the behavior more intuitive and align the active filter with what the user sees in the search field.
