The purpose of this idea is to allow TEP/TEMS run queries that summarize the DB2 z/OS thread status by using only the first 4 characteres of the package name. These first 4 characters indicate the application name the package belongs to, so this will allow to have a view of threads status by application, indicating which business area has more threads in each status. This will speed up problem determination narrowing down application to look for issues. In huge environment with hundreds of concurrent threads this would help a lot. The query we are trying to execute and that it is not supported by TEP/TEMS according to case TS011130124 is:
SELECT SUBSTR(TDIDPACK,1,4) , TDIDDB2S , COUNT(*)
FROM "KDP.REALTHDA" AT ($THRUNODE$)
WHERE ORIGINNODE = $NODE$
GROUP BY TDIDPACK, TDIDDB2S;
