The ITNM event gateway (ncp_g_event) does not recover lost connection on Objectserver port (4100/tcp) automatically. This results in a non working event enrichment. This happens in implementations where a firewall is between the gateway process and the Objectserver. The gateway normally keeps 3 connections established to Objectserver port (4100/tcp). If one or two connections get dropped by a firewall in between, we see warnings in the gateway log that update commands issued to the Objectserver have failed.
We expect that the gateway code gets improved in a way that:
1) a connection watch event to be raised in the Objectserver
2) the gateway automatically resets and restores the Objectserver connections
3) the gateway creates an event that connection has been restored to Objectserver
This faulty behavior has now been seen in two implementations, one with ITNM 3.9 and one with ITNM 4.2
