The problem is that the SQL-based right-click functionality, which performs an immediate refresh of the Event Viewer, does not support lo additional logic. For additional logic, a script-based right-click functionality is required which does not provide a way to immediately refresh the Event Viewer.
See PMR TS017974855 : the ask from the NNOC is to perform a right-click function like an acknowledge/deacknowledge/clear and if the alarm selected is of a certain type, provide a pop-up window to capture text to be put in the alarm's Journal. The problem being solved is the NNOC performing an action without providing an explanation - the Journal will capture that explanation. The NNOC is super busy and doesn't have the time to perform multiple clicks every time they perform an ack/deack/clear request - click for the action, click again to refresh. They desire a single click and an immediate visual feedback their action worked as expected. It seemed like "iduc flush" would do what was needed, but apparently that command doesn't exist for the WebGUI server. We even considered duplicating our SQL commands contained in the script-based right-click solutions - one for the object server and another for the display server - but that didn't result in the WebGUI Event Viewer updating any sooner than the configured scheduled refresh (set to 60 seconds).
