Entities Grouping based on tag

While the IBM platform currently supports tag creation for entities, the grouping functionality is limited to predefined categories such as accounts, applications, or container platforms. This idea proposes enhancing the grouping feature to allow users to group entities based on the custom tags they’ve already defined.

Why it's useful:

  • Leverages existing tagging infrastructure for more dynamic and meaningful grouping.
  • Provides a unified view of related entities across different types.
  • Reduces manual effort in managing and visualizing complex environments.

Who would benefit:

  • Developers, DevOps engineers, and platform administrators managing diverse resources.
  • Teams looking to streamline entity management and improve operational insights.

How it should work:

  • Extend the current grouping functionality to include tag-based grouping.
  • Allow users to select one or more tags when creating a group.
  • Display all entities (apps, accounts, containers, etc.) associated with the selected tags in a single view.
