This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Update from customer, "Currently not strict, but we're getting a lot more scrutiny on it from security hence the inquiry. We'll probably move to k8s if we do production and purchase the licenses, so it'll be moot for us"
Currently, our OVAs use Legacy BIOS because VMware defaults Linux VMs (such as RHEL or ‘Other Linux 64-bit’) to BIOS for compatibility. UEFI is technically possible, but it requires significant engineering changes. For context, VMware defaults UEFI only for Windows 11 and similar OS, while Linux defaults to BIOS unless manually changed. Alternatively, Kubernetes-based deployment avoids BIOS/UEFI concerns, though it introduces additional setup requirements.
Customer clarified that this is a Security checkbox for them, primarily. They have a secureboot requirement.
Confirmed that the RHEL-based OVA for v8.17.0 is also set to "legacy BIOS" instead of EUFI. Please update both the RHEL and Rocky Linux images from BIOS to EUFI.
presumably the RHEL OVA is also legacy BIOS based... it should also be upgraded to EUFI
