Preserve Deep Link Destination After SSO Login

Currently, when a user opens a direct link to a specific entity, action, group, or any other resource in Turbonomic, the system redirects them to the SSO login page if they are not already authenticated. However, after successful login, the user is always redirected to the Turbonomic home page instead of the originally requested URL.

This behavior disrupts the user experience and makes it inconvenient to share or bookmark deep links, as users must manually navigate to the desired page after logging in.

Proposed Improvement:
After the SSO authentication process, Turbonomic should automatically redirect the user back to the originally requested URL. This ensures that deep links remain functional even when the user is not logged in beforehand.

Benefits:

Improves usability and user experience.

Enables effective use of deep links for collaboration and troubleshooting.

Reduces navigation time and frustration for users accessing specific entities or actions.

Aligns Turbonomic’s behavior with standard SSO best practices across enterprise tools.

Example Scenario:
A user receives a direct link to a specific action recommendation in Turbonomic. When they open the link, they are redirected to the SSO page and log in successfully. Instead of being taken to the home dashboard, they should land directly on the intended action page.
