Provide a metric that shows actual usage of Azure disk drives along with allocated space.

Azure provides an ability to conduct a dynamic life resizing upward on disk drives, but not decrease in size. All current products and the Azure Portal will only show allocated drive space. We are unable to accurately determine if we over commit on disk drive sizes for newly stood up disk resources. If we stand up a 2TB disk drive, but the actual storage being consumed is only 200gb @ 10% of allocated space, we would have confidence to resize the disk to a more appropriate size like 500gb, generating tremendous savings.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations, and ideas. Unfortunately, this is not under consideration at this time, as Turbonomic leverages what is exposed via the Azure Monitor API and after investigation, disk utilization is not available. We will continue to track this API and consider additional options to collect this metric for our analysis.
