Reflect scaling actions performed directly from AWS Management Console to the list of successful actions and Cost savings aggregated in ThoughtSpot

When the instance type of an AWS EC2 server is changed directly from the AWS Management Console (instead of through Turbonomic), please ensure that the following items are properly reflected:

  • In the list of successful actions
  • Cost savings calculated and aggregated in ThoughtSpot

 

We were advised from the support team that actions performed directly from the AWS Management Console are not reflected in cost savings are not recognized or recorded unless they match actions generated by Turbonomic.

However, there are situations where the instances recommended by Turbonomic are not available in a specific AWS region, or where we prefer to downsize resources gradually rather than changing it to the exact instance type that Turbonomic suggests.

Therefore, as a future enhancement, we would like to request that instance type changes made directly in AWS be captured and reflected in the list of successful actions and cost savings calculations.
