Extend Turbonomic Max Observation Period to 13 Months (390 Days)

We request the addition of a new configurable option for the Max Observation Period in Turbonomic, extending it to 13 months (390 days), in addition to the currently available options of 7, 30, and 90 days.

Customer 's workloads demonstrate gradual and seasonal changes in resource utilization rather than short-term fluctuations. As a result, optimization decisions based only on short observation periods (7–90 days) may not accurately reflect long-term usage patterns.

Providing a longer observation window of 13 months would allow customers to:

  • Capture annual seasonality and cyclical workload behavior
  • Improve the accuracy of resource optimization recommendations
  • Avoid premature or suboptimal resizing decisions driven by short-term trends
  • Align better with enterprise capacity planning and budgeting cycles, which are typically annual

This enhancement would increase customer confidence in Turbonomic recommendations, particularly in environments with stable or slowly evolving workloads.

Customers with workloads that experience:

  • Seasonal demand (e.g., retail, finance, manufacturing)
  • Gradual growth or decline over time
  • Long-lived enterprise applications with predictable yearly cycles

In such cases, analyzing resource utilization over a full year provides a more representative baseline for optimization decisions.
