Integrate with SolidFire | Direct VM iSCSI

My customer JPMC has been greatly expanding their use of Solidfire/direct connect iSCSI storage. As we can't see that, the environment is not anything we can manage, and leaves us out of a major opportunity area.

For the customer, the use of SolidFire greatly reduces the use of VMDK. We would ask to investigate  how we can consume target data from SolidFire, and better understand if we detect when a VM is provisioned with direct iSCSI (VM to SAN appliance).

We would need to understand the consumption model and impact of storage over iSCSI, understand and handle actions on VMs with such storage deployment.

More detail and additional internal discussion on this topic can be found at SVC-1571 in Jira.

Thank Philomena. I've marked this as not under consideration at this time but would ask others to upvote and add context and experience here in the comments.

Are Solidfire iSCSI volumes popular in VMWare environments?

Share your stories of managing Solidfire iSCSI volumes here please so we can gauge demand and a sense of requirements before considering to reopen this for consideration in the future. Thanks!
