Extra function for auto approve storage "Move volume" actions

we would like to make more use of “auto approve” our storage moves actions

But ideally we would like the actions to prioritise certain smaller VMs first and also only move larger VM’s between certain times.

An initial thought would be to create a group of VMS that we would not want auto migrated between storage due to size.

Example group

Add anything over 5TB into a group and stop the actions being created but there does not seem to be a “Storage capacity” or “Allocated Storage” filter

I suppose we would like to assign priority to the auto moves based on size or other factors.

Example

  • VM under 500GB can be moved 24/7 so can auto accept

  • VM 501GB to 1TB between 5am and 9am so can auto accept between 5am and 9am

  • VM >1TB create action but not apply

Idea priority Medium

Yep a storage filter that can be used when creating groups would be useful.

To be able to filter on "more than a set amount" or "less than a set amount" Total VM (storage) size.

Ideally we would like to automate the move of our smaller VMs which don't take every long and schedule our larger VMs which can take a long time and may also affect backups.

Hi Russell, thank you for submitting this idea! Would a filter based on total VM (storage) size allow you to create the groups and policies to satisfy this request?
