The current metrics pods are used to gather data for the last 14 days so that Turbo instances can instantly give recommendations on being connected to a new target without having to wait 14 days. However in this particular client (and I'm sure others) they are using a proxy server to connect to AWS so they need a secret.
metrics-adapter-aws-cloudwatch & metrics-adapter-aws-performanceinsights & metrics-processor need to be able to have a secret defined.
AND
We need a way to turn them OFF - ideally a toggle in the target area in the GUI.
Business impact to the client - they won't be able to use this capability without it - not particularly important BUT what is important is that the errors these pods are causing are fulling up the log files.
It makes troubleshooting VERY difficult.
